What is Girl Up?
Girl Up is a girl-centered leadership development initiative, focusing on equity for girls and women in spaces where they are unheard or underrepresented.The Girl Up organization is also dedicated to 5 pillars: education, health, freedom from violence, count, and leadership so we surround many of our efforts around these pillars.
The Girl Up Gala is being planned with around 20 high school girls from five schools. Within these twenty, there are five leaders. Here is some more information about them!

Meet Lauren Carlson
Hi guys! My name is Lauren Carlson and I am a senior at Benilde Saint Margaret's. I am the co-founder and co-president of the BSM Girl Up Club.
Outside of Girl Up, I am a competitive dancer, an avid reader, and love to bake. I love all things design-related and am the senior editor of my school's yearbook #YERD4LIFE!
I am one of the co-chairs of the Gala and also have worked a lot with social media and merch as well as so many other things. I am so excited to be a part of the Minnesota Girl Up Gala and have loved growing closer with my other co-chairs. I can't wait for November 8th!
Meet Liv Pearson
Hi everyone! My name is Liv Pearson and I am a senior at Benilde St Margarets! I am a co-president and co-founder of the Girl Up chapter at my school.
I play tennis and was a junior high volleyball coach this season. I am interested in pursuing a career in business law, I love speaking and reading!
I am a co-chair for the first annual Minnesota Girl-up Gala! I have been working on creating major documents for the event, vendors, volunteers, marketing the event, and working with companies for promotion days. I am so excited to see you all on November 8th, get ready for a fun and most importantly, impactful event!
Meet Sienna Dhariwal
Hi everyone! My name is Sienna Dhariwal and I am currently a senior at Academy of Holy Angels! I have been a leader of the Girl Up chapter at my school for the past two years and a member for all four.
I love meeting new people and thrive near beaches! I really enjoy going to morning yoga with friends! I also love anything High School Musical! I am super into sustainability and started my own bikini brand, "Bikini Blend".
I am one of the Girl Up Gala's co-chairs with 4 of my close friends! I have been working with the financial part of the gala, sponsorships, venue, keynote speaker, catering, and overall event design! This event is such a passion of mine and I am so excited to see you all there in PINK!
Meet Michelle Dallow-Elliott
Hello! My name is Michelle- Dallow Elliott and I am a senior at The Blake School. I have been a co-chair of the Blake Girl Up for the past 3 years.
I also play violin for the Kamoinge string ensemble. My hobbies include reading and baking for my friends! I love meeting new people and making connections.
I am one of the co-chairs of the Gala and also have helped with our social media, sponsorships, and vendor partnerships. I am so excited to see everyone together at the gala!
Meet Harper Stevenson-Shimek
Hi! My name is Harper Stevenson-Shimek and I am a junior at Benilde- St. Margaret's! I have been a leader at my school's Girl Up for a year and I have been a member for two years.

I play basketball and soccer and love all things involving leadership and talking about BSM. I help with a little bit of everything and I am super excited for this event!
